Frequently asked questions
Do I have to enter everything myself?
You can, but you do not have to. Scan a photo of your bank statement or of a subscription list and PerchWise pulls out the services and the amounts. Every suggestion is yours to check first; it only enters your list once you say yes.
What happens to my photo?
Nothing. Your phone reads the text out of the photo, with Vision on iPhone and ML Kit on Android. The photo never crosses the network and is never stored. Only the lines of text that came out are sent to our server, to find the services in them.
Which subscriptions does PerchWise recognise?
The app works from a list of known services: streaming, music, games, software, gyms, newspapers and delivery services. If a name is not on that list no suggestion comes out and you add it yourself in a few seconds. Better five good suggestions than twenty you have to check.
Does the app read every photo well?
No. Crisp text like a bank statement works fine, a skewed photo of a messy list does not. If nothing comes out it does not cost you a scan, and you add the subscription by hand.
When does PerchWise warn me about a free trial?
Three days before the trial ends by default. You immediately see the date by which cancelling still counts. With Premium you choose whether you hear about it one, three or seven days ahead.
Does PerchWise cancel for me?
No. You see where to cancel, how it works at that service and what notice period applies. The cancelling itself is yours to do.
Do I need an internet connection to scan?
Not to read the photo, your phone does that itself. To turn it into suggestions you do, because the names are checked against our list.
What does PerchWise cost?
For free you track five subscriptions and scan three photos a month. If you want more, Premium is € 2.99 per month or € 29.99 per year. That takes the limits off and adds the year overview.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, through the App Store or Google Play. Your data stays until you delete your account.
What happens to my data if I stop?
Your data stays until you delete your account. When you do, all of it goes: your subscriptions, your notes and whatever came out of a scan. You do not need to email anyone for it; it is in the app under Settings.
Is it available on iPhone and Android?
Yes, both.
